Moving right along...

I had the gestational diabetes screening test at my appointment this past Wednesday (my 26 week visit). The test consisted of drinking a 10 oz bottle of an orange soda type drink within 5 mins.  After an hour of sitting in the waiting room, I had a blood draw. I found out Friday that the results were normal - that's a relief. I really didn't want to have to go to a more extensive 3-hr appt.

My appointments will be every 2-3 weeks now, instead of having appointments every 4 weeks or so.  My next visit is Sept 11th.

John and I went to an Infant/Child CPR class held at the hospital on Wednesday night. There were a few other expecting couples plus some grandparents in the class. We practiced on child-sized dummies and infant-sized dummies. We have a book for reference in case we end up feeling a bit rusty.

And we've collected even more baby items! We received a crib and mattress, plus crib sheets, blankets and more baby boy clothes from one of John's co-workers.

In non-baby news, I visited Patrick and Hayley in Roanoke on Saturday. We went out for a late lunch and just spent time chatting at their house. Today, I went to Endless Caverns with John's sisters and his little brother. That 55 degrees was a lovely change from the heat outside the caves. Of course, I failed to take pictures of these events!

  2. I hope you never need the CPR! But it's good to know. Hope you are feeling good these days.

    Love, Cecilia
