Topsail

We spent a week in Topsail NC at the end of Sept. Ryu had a great time exploring the beach house and loved having so many playmates. We had a full house: my parents, Aunt Jane and Uncle Richard, my cousin Cecilia and her twins Maggie and Ingrid, and my cousin Dennis J and Aunt Maggie.

Here he is hanging out on the beach with his Daddy. And having a nice nap on the beach just a short time later. The weather was cool and cloudy, and sometimes rainy for parts of the week, so we weren't down on the beach everyday. John continued his fishing, though!


With his new toy from Grandma and Grandpa. We weren't sure if the Jack in the Box would scare him, but he loved it!

 

Ryu loved playing in Grandma and Grandpa's bedroom at the house. The pillows were very exciting to him. He loved playing peek-a-boo with the pillows and just laughing at the pillows in general. Because my parents' room had two twin beds, they pushed them together. Ryu frequently "slipped through" the crack during his playtime. Here he is a little calmer.

His usual activity while at the beach: walking around the coffee table in the living room.

We took a couple of day trips while we were there. We went to New Bern to see the Governor's Palace and then to Wilmington to Airlie Gardens. Here's a group of us in the bottle garden at Airlie Gardens. The weather changed from cool and cloudy to hot and sunny on this day!

Here he is at the beach on one of the cool/cloudy days. He had his first experience in the outdoor shower after this...sand everywhere!
